Drawing on fashion design techniques, Mai treats existing garments as sculptural materials. She engages with clothing that carries strong social symbolism such as control and power, and by deconstructing, manipulating, and reconstructing them, she explores how these meanings can be transformed and opened up into new narratives.

デンマークと日本にルーツを持つデザイナー。現在東京を拠点に活動。
ファッションデザインの手法をもとに、既存の衣服を、彫刻的な素材として扱う。管理や権力、均質化といった社会的意味を強く帯びる存在としての衣服に向き合い、それらを解体し、加工し、再構築することによって、こうした意味をいかに変容し、新たな物語へと開いていくかを探求している。
